BUTTE MONTMARTRE

The artists' and Amélie Poulain's district never ceases to seduce lovers. The Taj Mahal-like architecture of the Sacré-Coeur attracts and constitutes the main backdrop for the photos that end up in the photo albums of lovers all over the world. Beyond the Sacré-Coeur, which proudly dominates the hill, it is the entire Butte Montmartre that embodies the romanticism of Paris par excellence. Its small, winding streets are full of life and offer a breathtaking view of the capital's slate roofs. The "small Parisian village" feel of yesteryear and the possibility of finding bits of the atmosphere of Paris in the Belle Epoque, make the Butte one of the favourite places for lovers.

MUR DES JE T'AIME

Montmartre is the romantic district of Paris by essence. Its artistic past and its small sloping streets are an ideal place for a romantic stroll, ending in the Jehan Rictus square of the Abbesses in front of the "je t'aime wall", an installation by Frédéric Baron and Claire Kito which includes the most beautiful declarations written in all languages. An opportunity to say your love in more than 300 languages and dialects in an idyllic setting dotted with cherry trees, laurels and old roses.

Adress : Square Jehan Rictus, place des Abbesses, 75018 Paris.

MUSEE DE LA VIE ROMANTIQUE

The garden of the Museum of Romantic Life is a small haven of peace and quiet that will delight lovers in search of tranquillity. This former 19th century mansion now houses a reconstruction of the historical setting of that period: furniture, paintings and jewellery fill the ground floor and echo the works of the Romantic period on the first floor. On cold or rainy days, you can take refuge in the charming glassed-in greenhouse where you can warm up with a cup of tea. On sunny days, there is nothing more pleasant than lounging with your partner in law in this country garden, which is not only accessible to museum visitors.

Adress : 16 Rue Chaptal, 75009 Paris.

GALERIE VIVIENNE

Paris is full of many covered passages, unknown to tourists. The atmosphere of the Belle Époque can be experienced as if you were there. With their glass roofs and charming shops, these passages give off a special atmosphere that invites you to stroll around. Couples love to stroll through them, embracing each other, far from the hustle and bustle of the city. Among the must-sees, the Galerie Vivienne is one of the most beautiful in the capital with its superb mosaics and as if illuminated with candles. A stop at the "A priori thé" salon is the ideal place for a break away from the glare of the city.

Adress: 5 rue de la Banque, 75002 Paris.

PALAIS ROYAL GARDEN

The Palais-Royal estate, located just a stone's throw from the Louvre Museum, is one of those places that Parisians of all ages enjoy throughout the year. In this magnificent setting surrounded by three centuries of architecture, lovers stroll along its galleries, under which intriguing boutiques are nestled, they stroll between the Buren Columns and stroll in its remarkable garden. Some sit on the olive-green chairs that are emblematic of Paris, others find themselves in the bucolic spaces surrounding the flowerbeds, while others still find their happiness in the shade of the tree-lined alleys.

ILE SAINT-LOUIS

Nicknamed the Enchanted Island, enjoy a pleasant walk along the quays of the Seine in a romantic atmosphere. Discover the magnificent facades, one of the most beautiful of which is the Hôtel de Chenizot, at 51-53 rue Saint-Louis-en-l'Île. The main street of the island has many porches and storefronts that have kept their original appearance, including the 17th and 18th century mansions. If you are hungry, you can go to the tea room of the Rue Saint-Louis-en-l'Île or to the best ice-cream parlour in Paris, Berthillon, with its artisanal ice creams with a thousand flavours.

RIVER SEINE BANKS

The river Seine banks remain a must for a stroll for two. From the Pont des Arts to the Louvre, via Notre-Dame and the Ile Saint-Louis, the Parisian river is the most popular guide for lovers' strolls. As the cradle of the capital, the banks of the Seine trace the history of the city and have charmed lovers for centuries. The bridges of Paris have always encouraged wandering couples to stop by. According to tradition, lovers must kiss under the Pont Marie, the oldest bridge in the arrondissement, which connects the Ile Saint Louis to the quays of the Hôtel de Ville, while making a wish to make it come true.
