our tips for celebrating fête nationale

Like every year, July 14 is a date on which Paris transforms itself to celebrate the National Holiday for a day. Between parades, events, celebrations, concerts & fireworks, here are our tips for having a unique July 14 party in the capital.

attend the famous parade of honor

Want to experience July 14th in Paris? The Armed Forces Parade of Honor is a unique experience, and the first event you'll want to see on this day of celebration. You won't be disappointed by the spectacle of uniformed soldiers and fighter jets flying overhead. You'll be able to watch the French armed forces parade down Paris's famous Champs-Élysées with great precision and coordination, as well as the many breathtaking acrobatics of the Republican Guard aircraft. And if you haven't seen enough yet, you'll appreciate the army tanks and horsemen who add a touch of grandeur to this spectacular event. To watch the parade, head to the Champs-Élysées district for a spectacular view, or to the parvis de la Défense, the departure point for the French fighter planes.

Celebrate Bastille Day with music

As every year, you can also enjoy the famous Concert de Paris on the Champ-de-Mars. The program features a unique musical evening by the Orchestre National de France, the Chœur and the Maîtrise de Radio France, accompanied by prestigious international artists and soloists. This grand symphony concert is a must for music lovers, promising an exceptional evening at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. Access to the Champ-de-Mars will be free and without reservation, but it is advisable to anticipate the crowds by arriving up to 45 minutes before the start of the concerts. This memorable event will close with the traditional vibrant rendition of the Marseillaise.

Fireworks in the colors of Overseas France

And what would a traditional July 14th celebration be without the customary fireworks display from the Eiffel Tower? This year, Parisians and tourists attending the event are in for much more than just a visual treat. In fact, they're invited to embark on an extraordinary journey through the French overseas territories. To make this experience even more grandiose, a unique soundtrack has been specially created to pay homage to these far-flung lands that are part of the French territory. This soundtrack will accompany the display of fireworks, creating a magical fusion of the senses. This show is an event not to be missed, and for the perfect location, head for the Eiffel Tower or Trocadero Gardens at 11pm.
